PETALING JAYA: It was a family get-together for Barisan Nasional’s Ayer Kuning candidate Dr Mohamad Yusri Bakir at the Tapah MCA’s reception dinner when his in-laws came all the way from Rawang to attend.

MCA president Dr Wee Ka Siong said that it was so heartwarming to see Sally Yap Chin Ma, the younger twin sister of Dr Mohamad Yusri’s wife, Rosnani Mahmud, come all the way from Rawang to attend the dinner with their mother Lee Fook Thai and four other siblings.

“Rosnani has been adopted by a Malay family since birth, but she has always remained in close contact with her birth family,” he said on Facebook on Friday (April 11).

“According to Sally, Dr Yusri has always been a filial son-in-law since his marriage to her sister, Rosnani,” he said.

Dr Wee quoted Yap who said that not only does Dr Yusri provide financial support regularly to their mother, he has always enjoyed spending time with their family, especially during special occasions like Chinese New Year and their mother’s birthday even though they come from different religious backgrounds.

“He has always been supportive of our family, that’s why we also want to cheer him on as he contests in the upcoming by-election,” Yap was quoted as saying.
