PETALING JAYA: Teams from 11 Fire and Rescue Department stations across Selangor are involved in flood operations, says department director-general Datuk Nor Hisham Mohammad.
He said the involved Fire and Rescue Department stations are Kapar, Dengkil, Sungai Buloh, North Klang, Puchong, Bestari Jaya, Tanjong Karang, Shah Alam, Teluk Panglima Garang, Andalas and Subang Jaya.
A total of 45 firemen are on duty for flood operations, with seven operations carried out as of 8pm on Friday (April 11).
“Klang, Petaling, Sepang, Hulu Langat and Gombak are among districts affected by the floods,” said Nor Hisham.
Earlier on Friday, flash floods struck parts of Selangor leaving close to a thousand displaced.
According to the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma, 930 victims had been displaced as of 8pm.
They were housed at four temporary relief centres.
A total of 215 victims were housed at a relief centre in Klang and 715 across three relief centres in the Petaling district.
